LEKKI LEADERS PRAISE PARTNERSHIP WITH LAGOS
ASSEMBLY
President of the Lekki Estates
Residents and Stakeholders Association (LERSA) Alhaji Sulyman Kolawole Bello
has asserted that the partnership between the association and the 10th
Lagos State House of Assembly is set to fast-track the growth and development
of infrastructure in the Peninsula. He
particularly praised the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Mojisola Lasbat
Meranda, and the Majority Leader Hon.
Noheem Babatunde Adams who is also the member representing Eti-Osa Constituency
1, for their commitment to the development of the Lekki corridor.
Bello spoke when he led a delegation of
the Association’s leadership on a familiarization visit to the Deputy Speaker and
the Majority Leader.
According to Bello, Hon. Adams has
distinguished himself on the seat of Majority Leader while also being
instrumental for bringing the attention of the Executive arm of government to
the Lekki area. The team similarly commended Princess Meranda for her
passionate disposition.
Bello used the opportunity of the visit
to discuss various issues affecting the residents of the Eti-Osa and Lekki
Peninsula in General
Issues raised at the meetings included;
the Coastal Road, Regional Road and other important arteries in the axis. Other
issues raised bordered on flooding, Atlantic Ocean encroachment, pipe-borne
water as well as recreational, educational and health facilities for Lekki
residents, and the restoration of the road setback at Femi Okunnu Estate phase 2.
The Majority Leader and Deputy Speaker
assured the President and residents of the Lekki Peninsula that all the issues raised
would be attended to in due time.
The Majority Leader particularly assured
members and residents that he will raise a motion at the state assembly for a
sustainable clean water supply for the people of Lekki and Lagos State.
He assured the LERSA delegation that
further Meetings would be held with various Agencies and Commissioners for long
term solutions to the various issues raised.
Members of the delegation included Mr.
Gihan Mbelu (Vice President LERSA), High Chief Mustapha Okunmoyinbo (Baale of
Alasia), Pastor Adewale Aderoju (Chairman Infrastructure Committee LERSA), Mrs. Rekia Eletu (Financial Secretary LERSA) and
Pastor Charles Ikoabasi ( Chairman Paradise Estate and member of LERSA Infrastructure
Committee).
Others are; Mr. Keji Olajide (Chairman Bridgegate Estate), Pastor Odozimba Uche Iheakanwa (Chairman Power Committee LERSA) Prince Adewale Taorid Ojora
(Chairman Greenland Estate), Mr. Ikechukwu
Kalu (Chairman Femi Okunnu Estate Phase 2), Mr. Adebayo Mahmud who represented the
Director General, Nigeria Conservation Foundation).
Also present were Mrs. Jennifer Olorunsola, (Secretary Transportation Committee LERSA), Lady Lauretta Asemota (Chairperson Environmental Committee LERSA), Mrs. Onaeko Deborah, (Vice Chairman Bridgegate Estate) and Mr. Etuk Emmanuel (Admin Manager LERSA)
